Care and Kindness
Emotional connection is the foundation of learning. Within Little Phoenix each child is supported by our triangle of care, where our professional love compliments parental love. Kindness is the starting point at every step, and we provide a relaxed, happy haven where every child can seek comfort and a cuddle.
Time in Nature
Nature provides children with endless learning opportunities, filled with natural treasures that invite sensory exploration and discovery. In our outdoor play spaces children may choose the excitement of energetic play or a shady spot for moments of calm. Nature is invited inside too with collections of natural materials leading to new creative possibilities.
Rhythms and Routines
Each day follows a natural, gentle rhythm and we are proud that our life at Little Phoenix takes a slower pace. Routines sit in the triangle of care, reflecting elements of life at home. Babies & little ones can ‘wallow in their play’, unhurried and with fewer interruptions they are guided through their day with ease as they grow increasingly independent.
Freedom to Move
Movement builds brains - we believe babies and little ones should have the time and space to move in as many ways as possible in these first three years. The freedom to move brings joy to a child, it keeps both body and mind healthy. Movement is the beginning, only when a little one can control every muscle can they possibly learn to sit still.
Wonder of Words
Every voice is heard and valued in our nursery. A child may communicate through words, signs or through movement; we listen to their chosen language knowing that it leads to learning in life. We take time each day to talk, to pretend, to read and to sing; we have fun with words and immerse ourselves in imaginary worlds.
